About the event
Soulful Seventies Sounds celebrates both the music and performers that helped define and direct many of the changes in both the Black community, and American in general, during the 1970s. Politics, Culture, Love and more are explored during this musical journey through some of the most musically creative years in American history.
First debuted at Davenport’s Cabaret in June 2024, the program features songs from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, The Four Tops, Gloria Gaynor, The Temptations, Curtis Mayfied and the Impressions, the Five Stairsteps and more.
Presented by vocalist David Stephens with Music Director Beckie Menzie and our Special Chicago Guest Artists: Joyce Thomas and T. Patrick Davis.
